Grandma and I took self-portraits together for the first time, on the last day of my last trip home.
Both the sun and Grandma got tired after one roll.
We tried to include both of us in most photos.
A bittersweet reminder to both of us — that my late grandpa also used to be in the frame.

Inspired by a notion from Dream of the Red Chamber /
Story of the Stone /《红楼梦》,
where men are described as being shaped by earth —
and women by water...
We merged with hesitation and without much rehearsal —
into exposure and intimacy.
